Aspadol 150 mg Tablets contain aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to alleviate pain and inflammatory conditions. Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd manufactures Aspadol 150 mg especially to relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and dental procedures. Each Aspadol tablet contains 150 mg of the active ingredient aceclofenac along with other inactive pharmaceutical ingredients.

How Does Aspadol 150 mg Work?

The key ingredient aceclofenac in Aspadol 150 mg exerts anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects through:

  • Inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that stimulate prostaglandin synthesis from arachidonic acid leads to pain and swelling in inflammatory conditions.
  • Blocking prostaglandin E2 production to alleviate inflammation, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness.
  • Reducing bradykinin levels and other pain-producing substrates to provide pain relief in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

When Not To Use?

Do not take Aspadol 150 mg in the following cases:

  • Known hypersensitivity to aceclofenac or any other ingredients present in the formulation
  • Patients with gastrointestinal ulceration, bleeding, or perforation history
  • Individuals with cerebrovascular disease or bleeding disorder
  • Persons with significantly impaired liver or kidney function
  • Concurrent use of other NSAIDs, aspirin, or anticoagulants

Inform your doctor before taking Aspadol 150 mg if you have any medical condition, especially cardiovascular disease. The medication is not advisable during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or for children under 18 years of age.

The recommended Aspadol 150 mg dosage is one tablet twice a day, preferably after meals. Drink plenty of water during treatment with Aspadol. Do not increase/reduce dosage or take it for longer than the prescribed duration without a doctor’s approval, as it can increase side effects or disease complications.

Missed Dose

Dose If you forget to take Aspadol 150 mg tablet, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose dose, skip the Missed dose dose and revert to the regular dosing routine.

An Aspadol 150 mg overdose can result in severe adverse events like gastrointestinal bleeding, liver damage, or perforated stomach/intestinal ulcers. Seek emergency care if an overdose is suspected.

Warnings For Special Population

Aspadol 150 mg is not recommended during pregnancy as it may cause embryo/fetal defects.

Aceclofenac passes into breast milk, so avoid using it while nursing an infant. Consult a doctor for a safer analgesic option.

Use with caution in existing liver impairment as it may deteriorate the condition.

Observe adverse reactions like gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, which are common in older people on NSAID treatment.

General Warnings

Aspadol 150 mg comes with a few warnings that users should be aware of:

  • Always follow the doctor’s instructions regarding 100 mg dosage, duration, special test requirements, and management of side effects.
  • Never use it for symptoms for which it is not prescribed.
  • Inform your healthcare provider about your medical history and current health status before starting treatment.
  • Report any abnormal symptoms experienced to get necessary interventions.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption as it increases the risk of gastrointestinal side effects.
